News: Sony confirms the game will be "uncensorsed" in every territory it's released in.

Sony has released the official boxart for the North American version of
Heavy Rain, which you can view above.
As you can see, the game has also been awarded a Mature rating from the ESRB. Sony is quite proud of this rating and has confirmed that the game will not be censored in any way and will stay true to director David Cage's true vision. This is likely a relief to Cage and his team at Quantic Dream as their last release,
Indigo Prophecy was heavily censored before its American release.
While the ESRB has not posted their Rating Summary for the game yet, the game's official Content Descriptors inlcude "Blood, Intense Violence, Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language and Use of Drugs".

If you're less than thrilled with the North American boxart (especially in comparison to the classy European art, seen to your left), you're not alone. The outcry from fans has been so great that
Sony has announced they will make a high quality printable version of the European insert (front and back) available online after the game's February 23 release:
"" We'll be doing that for those that would prefer the UK artwork. Keep an eye out on the blog around launch! ""
- Cristian Cardona, Associate Product Manager at Sony.
We'll have more soon.
