News: Lights! Camera! HEAD SHOT!

In addition to the Monster Hunter Frontier Online announcement, Capcom Japan also had Dead Rising on the brain during this morning's press event in Tokyo.

First, the company confirmed that Dead Rising 2 will be released for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime in 2010. The company wouldn't get any more specific than that, but it's good to know that gamers will get their fill of zombie games from Capcom this year (Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition is still on track for a March 9 release as well).

Besides the multiplatform sequel, Capcom saved a little Dead Rising love just for the Xbox 360 with the announcement of Dead Rising: The Movie. The film will be directed by series creator Keiji Inafune and it will debut on Xbox Live in Japan sometime in 2010 (probably right around the time Dead Rising 2 is released). An American release was unannounced, but there's a very real possibility it'll be released over here as well.

According to the Capcom-Unity blog, the the movie will follow brothers Shin and Jouji, who must escape an area of Japan that has been quarantined following the spread of the disease that turns everyone into zombies. Sadly, it looks like game protagonist Frank West won't be making an appearance in the movie.

Capcom has posted the first trailer for the movie on its official website. Be sure to check it out, but just a warning, the entire thing is in Japanese.

We'll have more soon.
