News: The road to the World Cup begins April 27.
EA Sports is readying the official game of the 2010 World Cup with the announcement that 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa is in development. Developed by EA Canda, the game will be released for the PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360 on April 27, giving gamers a head start on the real World Cup, which begins in June.
2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa will attempt to recreate the road to the World Cup as realistically as possible for all 199 national teams. This realism extends from the presentation to the gameplay as EA Sports plans to incorporate "home and away strategies for every nation, situational tactics in-game, and altitude effects that fatigue players faster and even impact the flight of the ball" into the game.
For the first time ever in a videogame compete in a full and authentic online World Cup tournament. Carry the hopes and dreams of a nation into battle against fans from rival countries, from the group stage through the knockout rounds to the chance to be crowned 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa champion.
