News: And Nintendo cleans up with the rest of the top five.

Top Global Markets, an integrated report that combines the yearly sales data from the US (NPD Group), UK (GfK Chart-Track) and Japan (Enterbrain), has issued their analysis on the worldwide state of game sales in 2009.

Not surprisingly, the combined PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sales of Activision and Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 took the top spot with 11.86 million copies sold (8.82 mil. in the US, 237.5K in Japan and 2.80 mil. in the UK).

Also not surprisingly, it was followed by four Nintendo-published Wii titles:

2. Wii Sports Resort (7.57 million)
3. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (7.41 million)
4. Wii Fit Plus (5.8 million)
5. Wii Fit (5.44 million)

All told, 379,300,000 games around the world in 2009.
