News: Black director Stuart Black is back.
Codemasters has announced the first details of a new project from their newly expanded Guildford studio.
The studio, which was formed in 2007, is developing a new console-focused first person shooter. The game will be a brand new property, not belonging to any previously created Codemasters series. Development on the currently untitled game, which will use Codemasters' EGO engine, entered full production about a year ago.
Heading up development on this new project is Creative Director Stuart Black, who previously worked on
Black for Criterion. Black was best known for coining the phrase "gun porn" in relation to the game's non-stop action. So you can be sure this new property will have plenty of excitement to go around.
Executive Producer Tom Gillo (previously Executive Producer and Game Director at Sony Computer Entertainment London Studio) and Senior Producer Andrew Wilson (previously Senior Producer,
Split/Second at Blackrock) lead the 80-strong development team.
Specific platforms or a tentative release date weren't announced, but hopefully we'll have more soon.
