News: No, this isn't a joke.
Capcom has announced they will be bringing Street Fighter IV to the iPhone and iPod Touch this March. According to the company, this scaled down version of the game will be "uncompromised and awesome".
Players will control their Street Fighters with a virtual control pad and buttons. Capcom says the transperancy of this "Visual Pad" can be customized to the player's liking and it can also be repositioned to anywhere on the screen.
The iPhone version of Street Fighter IV will include a "Dojo" training mode as well as two-player head-to-head play via a Bluetooth connection.
УWe're particularly proud of the multiplayer feature as it remains true to the series arcade roots by allowing players to go head-to-head over Bluetooth in spectacular fashion,Ф said Takeshi Tezuka, General Manager of Mobile Content Development, Capcom.
The game's roster has not been finalized yet, but according to Capcom it will feature characters "pulled from recent console releases including several classic and newly introduced fighters." However, the inclusion of Ken and Ryu in the iPhone version has been confirmed and an early screenshot hints at Guile's participation as well.
We'll have more soon.
