News: Check your Battle.net account now to see if you made it in.
A week ago, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime revealed that the closed beta for StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty would begin "this month". As Battle.net users began noticing yesterday, he has kept his promise.
Blizzard has distributed beta keys to thousands of gamers around the world and plans to continue to add Battle.net users to the beta as time goes by. So if you want a chance to get in on the beta and you don't have a Battle.net account, be sure to sign up for one now.
"Gathering concentrated feedback from our players is an important step for us as we head into the final stretch of development for StarCraft II and the new Battle.net service," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We look forward to having our players' help in polishing the overall experience and preparing for launch."
Blizzard hopes to release StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty exclusively for the PC sometime in the "first half of the year".
We'll have more soon.
