News: Sin and Punishment 2! Yay for Treasure!

Nintendo's Spring Media Summit is in full swing today in San Francisco and more release dates have been announced.

After launching in Japan last October, Nintendo has announced that Sin and Punishment: Star Successor (formerly known as Sin and Punishment 2) will be released in America on June 7. The shooter was developed by Treasure and is a sequel to to one of the best N64 games no one played (because it didn't leave Japan until a Virtual Console release in 2007).

Another Wii game to receive a name change (and a kinda, sorta release date) is Fling Smash. Previously known as Span Smasher, the game will be released this Summer.

Nintendo has also given a specific release date to Capcom's Monster Hunter Tri. The franchise's Wii debut was previously penciled in for a vague April 2010 release date. Now we know the game will be in stores on April 20 in two configurations, a standard game-only edition and bundled with a Wii Classic Controller Pro.

Finally, the super anticipated indie WiiWare game Cave Story will be released on March 22 and the DS puzzler Picross 3D will be released on May 3.

Nintendo also dated two third party games today. Disney's Guilty Party (developed by Wideload Games) is a "fun and hilarious" mystery party game coming to the Wii in the late Summer. Majesco's DSi-exclusive Ghostwire: Link to the Paranormal uses "augmented reality" to add ghosts to photos taken by the DSi camera. It's scheduled for release this October.

We'll be posting more news from Nintendo's Spring Media Summit all day today. And thanks to Wired for the great liveblog.
