Electronic Arts has announced that gamers who purchase Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for the PC, PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 will gain access to four additional maps for free.
The first pair of maps, Laguna Alta (Conquest Mode) and Nelson Bay (Rush Mode), will be available on March 2. The second set of maps, Arica Harbor (Conquest Mode) and Laguna Presa (Rush Mode), will be released by DICE later in March.
And according to EA, these two map packs are just the beginning, with several more in the planning stages:
УBattlefield: Bad Company 2 will redefine online modern warfare on March 2. We are deeply committed to the FPS community and Battlefield fans worldwide,Ф said Patrick Bach, Senior Producer for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. УThese first two map packs are just the beginning. We're planning ongoing support for the community by always keeping the experience fresh and ensuring the best possible gameplay experience.Ф
Players will be able to download the maps by inputting a special VIP code that will come packaged in every copy of Bad Company 2. Those that buy the game used will still be able to download the maps, but they'll have to purchase a VIP code token from the game's online store for $15 (or 1200 Microsoft Points).
EA has released a trailer showcasing the new maps, which you can view right here:
