The Witcher 2 announced, first trailer revealed @ Gaming Target

News: CD Projekt RED is finally ready to reveal the second Witcher game.

After news of its existence was leaked out a few months ago, CD Projekt RED is finally ready to officially announce that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is in development for the PC. The game will be published by Atari in North America.

Few details were revealed (not even a release date), but CD Projekt RED is saying that The Witcher 2 will feature an "an incredibly gripping, mature and challenging non-linear plot" along with a brand new combat system. This combat system, and the entire game itself, will be designed from scratch by the developer.

УI am really glad that we can officially present what we've been working on for the past two-and-a-half years.Ф - said Adam Kiciёski, CEO of CD Projekt RED studio. УWe learned a lot during The Witcher's development process, and we are using all of that knowledge to ensure the sequel is one of the best RPGs people have ever played. We've concentrated on improving the most successful parts of the Witcher, and I strongly believe that The Witcher 2 will be loved both by fans of the original and newcomers. We know that we aimed very high while producing The Witcher 1. Now we are aiming even higher with The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.Ф
