News: Excuse me, the marketing department says that should be F.3.A.R.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has let gamers know they should be very afraid as they've announced
F.E.A.R. 3 (stylized as F.3.A.R. for marketing purposes) will be coming to the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this Fall. The game will be developed by Day 1 Studios, who had previously created the console versions of F.E.A.R., in a partnership with the creator's of the franchise, Monolith Studios.
Alma, the pint-sized supernatural creature from the first two games, is back and causing more mayhem:
Alma returns in F.E.A.R. 3 but this time her sons Point Man and Paxton Fettel introduce divergent co-op, giving players distinctly different abilities affecting their own play as well as the experience of their co-op partner. Gamers participate in single player or co-op modes as Point Man, a genetically enhanced super soldier originally introduced in F.E.A.R., or they can play cooperatively as his conniving brother Paxton Fettel, whose incredible telekinetic power has given him life beyond the grave.
To ratchet up the horror quotient in part three, Warner Bros. Interactive has recruited comic book writer Steve Niles ("30 Days of Night") to write the game's script. Horror icon John Carpenter will also lend his expertise to the game by crafting F.E.A.R. 3's cinematic sequences.
We'll have more soon.
