News: But will he throw a spiral into the first round?
Former University of Florida quarterback, and two-time Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Tebow has been selected by EA Sports as the cover athlete for NCAA Football 11. Developed by EA Tiburon, NCAA Football 11 will be released for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on July 13.
Tebow was the first sophomore in history to win the coveted Heisman Trophy following his 2007 season as the Florida Gators' starting quarterback. In that season, Tebow became the first player in NCAA history to rush and pass for at least 20 touchdowns in a single season. Tebow is one of the most decorated college quarterbacks in history, winning the Davey O'Brien Award as the nation's best quarterback in 2007 and becoming only the second player in NCAA history to earn the Maxwell Award, given to the nation's top football player, on two occasions.
Tebow is expected to be a late first round or second round pick in this month's NFL Draft. Rumors abound that he'll end up on the Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings or the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints. But where he ends up is only a concern for Madden NFL 11 players and fantasy football junkies.
For the first time in the franchise's history, NCAA Football 11 will include authentic playbooks for all 120 NCAA FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) schools. EA Sports has launched the game's official website at NCAAFootball11.com, which features a very active developer's blog. A small blurb also reveals that a demo of NCAA Football 11 will be available in June.
We'll have more soon.
