After a weekend of leaks, Capcom has officially announced Marvel vs Capcom 3, which will carry the full title Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. As expected, the game will be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as a full retail title, not a digital download like MvC2. Marvel vs Capcom 3 is currently on track for a Spring 2011 release.
The game will be built using Capcom's MT Framework, which also powered Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2. MvC3 will be a 3-on-3 tag team fighter that will use a hybrid 2D/3D "moving comic" style that Capcom refers to as a "Living Comic Book." Owing to its roots, the game will feature an Evolved VS. Fighting System that includes "[w]ild over-the-top gameplay complete with signature aerial combos, hyper combos and other original systems."
