News: And it'll launch alongside StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty.
Are you tired of sheep from FarmVille wandering into your News Feed on Facebook? Well prepare to make sheep shanks out of them as Blizzard has announced they will be integrating their revamped Battle.net service with the popular social networking destination.
The service will roll out slowly on Facebook, with players initially given the option to link their Facebook and Battle.net accounts. From there they will be able to add their Facebook friends to their Battle.net friends list directly from Facebook.
Battle.net on Facebook will make its debut in the
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty beta soon and will be available to all StarCraft II players when the game ships on July 27. Blizzard plans to add more Facebook features into Battle.net, which they'll announce sometime in the future.
"We're pleased to be working with Facebook to integrate their platform with Battle.net to enhance the social-entertainment experience for our players," said Paul Sams, chief operating officer of Blizzard Entertainment. "This new functionality will make it easier than ever to connect with friends on Battle.net and play StarCraft II and future Blizzard Entertainment games together."
We'll have more soon.
