News: Sony's shooter sequel is making the leap to 3D.
Sony executives revealed that Killzone 3 was in development a few months ago and now an early copy of the July issue of GamePro has unveiled a lot more about the battle with the Helghast. Thanks to a poster on the GameSpot Forums, we now know that the sequel...
Will feature optional 3D effects that players will have to wear 3D glasses to see.
Will include jetpacks!
Will feature one mission where you rescue ISA Captain Narville.
Will include a new weapon called The Wasp, which unloads a "flurry of rockets" at an enemy.
Will take place on a bigger scale than the previous two games in the series.
Will include "unchanged" combat from Killzone 2.
Will mostly take place in arctic-based levels, but will also include "diverse locales."
Will show the Helghast have humanity left in them by exploring their culture and language.
Apparently, GamePro went on to describe the 3D effects as a "game changer." Thea article also revealed that developer Guerilla Games received some help from the team behind Uncharted, Naughty Dog, in creating the game's graphics engine.
Killzone 3 is being developed exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Sony has previously hinted that the game will be released next April, so it very likely will be on hand at next month's E3 expo.
We'll have more soon.
