News: Square Enix brings a old school styled RPG to the DS this October.
Square Enix plans to bring the Final Fantasy series back to its roots this Fall with the release of Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light on the DS.
Designed as a throwback to the classic RPGs of the NES era, The 4 Heroes of Light will contain "beautiful picture book visuals and an easy to control battle system." The game's Crown System will allow players to change the make-up of their party "at the drop of the hat." Among the more than 20 jobs available are classic Final Fantasy classes like Black Mage, White Mage and Ranger.
Even the game's story sounds like it was first put to paper in the late 80s:
In the small kingdom of Horne, Brandt awakes on the morning of his fourteenth birthday.
Today is the day he becomes an adult, and the custom of the realm says that he must go to the castle to present himself to the king.
Yet when he arrives at the castle he finds the kind distraught and the youngest princess missing, abducted by the Witch of the North. With no one else to turn to, the king makes a shocking request: will Brandt save the princess?

We'll have more soon.
