News: Aiming your plasma caster? There's an app for that.
Predators will hunt Adiren Brody, Topher Grace, Laurence Fishburne, Danny "They f---ed with the wrong Mexican" Trejo and others in theaters this July. Chillingo and indie developer Angry Mob Games have announced the hunt will continue in a game on the iTunes App Store as well.
Scheduled for release ahead of the film's July 9th theatrical opening, the game promises to allow players "to experience the thrill of a Predator hunt like never before." To do this, the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad game will place players behind the mask (and the weaponry) of a Predator.
"The [Predator] franchise is among the world's most popular sci-fi brands and Chillingo is delighted to bring its adrenaline-packed excitement to the Apple App Store," explains Johnny Coghlan, Head of Publishing, Chillingo. "The film's fast-paced, suspenseful action provides the perfect environment for thrilling gameplay design."
That "fast-paced, suspenseful action" is being produced by action movie auteur Robert Rodriguez (Desperado, Grindhouse) and directed by Nimrod Antal (Vacancy). Let's hope the movie and the game live up to the hype.
