One of the greatest platformers of the Super NES/Genesis era is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade this week. I speak, of course, of the cow-launching classic Earthworm Jim HD. Available this Wednesday, June 9, for 800 Microsoft Points ($10), if the greatness of Earthworm Jim has eluded you all this time, check out more details right here:

Earthworm Jim HD
Developer: Gameloft
Publisher: Xbox Live Arcade
Rediscover the grooviest action game of all time in full hi-def glory with Earthworm Jim HD! For the first time, grab friends and combine your wormy powers in four-player co-op locally or online. Explore all the original levels, experience wild gameplay, and rock to the remastered cult soundtrack. There's even more to discover with brand new enemies to blast into pieces and never-before-seen locations. Now that's groooovy!

Microsoft will also be running a Deals of the Week six-pack this week. Xbox Live Gold members will be able to purchase the following games, which are normally priced at 800 Microsoft Points ($10) for 400 Microsoft Points ($5) each:

  • Worms 2: Armageddon
  • Peggle
  • Duke Nukem 3D

Shooter fans will be able to grab these games, which are normally priced at 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) for 400 Microsoft Points ($10):

  • Battlefield 1943
  • Call of Duty Classic
  • Serious Sam: The First Encounter HD

Rounding out the week will be two new additions to the Xbox Live Games on Demand service on Tuesday, June 8: Red Faction Guerrilla and Need For Speed Undercover.

    We'll have more soon.
