News: Super Stardust HD will now be more explosive than ever.
HD stereoscopic 3D Gaming will be available on PlayStation 3 tomorrow, according to a PlayStation Blog post earlier today. This is made possible by the free firmware update that came out this past April. 3D capable Bravia HDTVs are also now available for pre-order through Sony Electronics, shipping to retailers later this month.
There are two full games available - WipEout HD and Super Stardust HD - along with the demo of MotorStorm: Pacific Rift and Уthe Downtown area and tutorial along with three modesФ from PAIN. The aforementioned 3D capable Bravia HDTVs will come with vouchers for the games and demos, which purportedly add up to У100 hours of gameplay.Ф
Looking even further into the future, The Fight: Lights Out will be available in 3D with PlayStation Move, Уto deliver an immersive and realistic gaming experience unlike anything you've played before.Ф There's a vague indication that more will be announced, but nothing specific. Obviously, Killzone 3 will be a major 3D title, but what else? Resistance 3?
While I love Super Stardust HD, I have to admit I'm kind of bummed out Ц I was hoping I could just slap on the 3D glasses that came in my Nightmare on Elm Street box set and play. Oh well Ц maybe 3D TVs won't be too prohibitively expensive. I can dream, right?
