News: But it's still a long way away.
Two years ago, Shigeru Miyamoto used his E3 Developer's Roundtable to announce that Pikmin 3 was in the works for the Wii. The game has been a no-show at all Nintendo media events since then, but Miyamoto used his 2010 E3 Developer's Roundtable to confirm that the game is still in development.
When asked where Pikmin 3 was, Miyamoto replied, "Rest assured, [...] we are very hard at work on Pikmin." He would go on to state that developnent of Pikmin 3 would pick up after the completion of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword: "Once [Skyward Sword's] done, we'll finish Pikmin."
Maybe it'll make an appearance at E3 2011. After all, Kirby's Epic Yarn was first announced for the GameCube back in 2005 before making it's official debut at this year's E3 Expo.
We'll have more from the 2010 E3 Expo soon.
