News: Dead Space: Extraction and Medal of Honor: Frontline to get the HD treatment.
First revealed at Sony's E3 Press Conference on Tuesday, Electronic Arts has revealed a little more on the PlayStation 3-exclusive special editions for Dead Space 2 and Medal of Honor.
Medal of Honor is scheduled to be released on October 12 and its special edition will include a high definition remake of Medal of Honor: Frontline, which was originally released for the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2002.
УMedal of Honor has always been characterized by authenticity and reverence for the soldier. That sentiment has never been truer than it is today,Ф said Greg Goodrich, Executive Producer of Medal of Honor. УMedal of Honor has had a long, dynamic history on PlayStation platforms. We are excited to continue that tradition today with this special edition of Medal of Honor that pays homage to the legacy of the franchise on this platform.Ф
Dead Space 2 is on track for a January 25 release and its special edition will also include an HD remake of a previously released game. Dead Space: Extraction acted as a prequel to the Dead Space series when it was released on the Wii last year. The PS3 version of the light gun shooter will be given PlayStation Move support (along with SixAxis/DualShock 3 controller support) and a full range of Trophies. Players that don't want to spring for the Dead Space 2 Limited Edition will also be able to purchase Extraction as a standalone game from the PlayStation Store.
УWe're thrilled to couple two terrifying experiences in one box. With the Limited Edition, PlayStation 3 fans will receive real insight into the cause of the necromorph infestation and the destruction that followed. This is the genesis of the dark and twisted world Isaac inhabits,Ф said Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer on Dead Space 2. УThe addition of support for PlayStation Move allows us to bring a truly unique experience that was previously unavailable to players and we can't wait to see what they think.Ф
EA was not ready yet to announce additional special features or pricing details for either game's special edition.
