News: Stanley Cup champ scores the NHL 11 cover.
EA Sports has announced that they've chosen Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks as the cover athlete for this September's NHL 11. In development at EA Canada for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Toews' selection marks the first time that EA Sports has put back to back players from the same team on the cover of the NHL franchise. Toews' teammate Patrick Kane graced the cover of last year's NHL 10.
УI am really excited to be on the cover of NHL 11,Ф said Toews. УIt's been an amazing year for me and the team, and it's nice to end it by being a part of a game I played growing up. The NHL games have always been great, so it's an honor for me to be a part of the EA Sports family.Ф
УJonathan Toews is one of the best centers in the NHL today,Ф said Jordan Edelstein, Vice-President of Marketing for EA Sports. УHe is a great ambassador for the sport of hockey and his impact on the sport this year is undeniable. It's great to have him in the EA Sports family.Ф
EA is touting NHL as "the most complete hockey video game ever created" due to its "revolutionary real-time physics engine that brings an unprecedented amount of realism to the franchise." This is coupled with gameplay innovations like "broken sticks and a revamped face-off system." NHL 11 also marks the Canadian Hockey League's introduction to the series.
We'll have more soon.
