News: We also have a new trailer.

Also... First English Trailer for Dead Rising 2 Movie Prequel... see below.

Capcom has announced that the Dead Rising 2 prequel movie, which was written and directed by series creator Keiji Inafune, will be released in Europe and North America as well as in Japan.

Titled Zombrex: Dead Rising Sun, the film will be released as a free download in eight parts. Capcom had previously announced that the Dead Rising movie would be an Xbox Live exclusive. However, there was no mention of the distribution method for the movie in this latest announcement. So perhaps PC and PS3 owners will get a chance to view the film as well.

Zombrex: Dead Rising Sun follows two brothers as they try to escape the zombie outbreak that has hit Japan. Capcom says the movie will "[explore] the darker side of human nature" as it "both pays homage to the zombie movies of the 1960s and 70s and provides links with the video game world of Dead Rising." The film will also be partially shot with a "first person" viewpoint, giving it that extra bit of video game flavor... even though Dead Rising 2 isn't a first person game.

For the North American and European release, Capcom plans to dub the film into English. The version released in France, Spain and Italy will include optional French, Spanish or Italian subtitles.

Zombrex: Dead Rising Sun will be made available this Summer, presumably ahead of Dead Rising 2's August 31 release. In the meantime, check out the film's new English-language trailer. All I have to say is CHAINSAW WHEELCHAIR!:
