News: THQ has tons of sequels planned for the future.
Danny Bilson, THQ's Vice President of Core Games, has revealed some of the publisher's aspirations for a couple of their major franchises during an interview with CVG.
Taking a cue from Capcom's Dead Rising: Case Zero, Bilson revealed that THQ is working on downloadable prequels to Red Faction: Armageddon and Saints Row 3. The games will appear on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade a few months ahead of the main game with Red Faction Arcade slated for a late 2010/early 2011 release. According to Bilson, the downloadable game will also tie-in to the upcoming Red Faction movie in production at SyFy:
"There's going to be a Red Faction Arcade game that ships about three or four months before Armageddon. What's interesting is that we will sell it to the fans, it will have content you can download that is TV show-related, it will build up to the new game and also we can use it to drive pre-orders, too; we can give codes and aspects of it, we can give the whole thing away."
Bilson also told
CVG that the company is already planning a sequel to
Homefront, the Kaos Studios-developed first person shooter that will be released in early 2011. The first game will focus on a North Korean invasion of the United States, but according to Bilson, the battle will take place on a global scale:
"We've created this massive world of 2027. And it's global. We haven't got there yet but you're going to see
Homefront: London later on in the franchise. This is not just a game in the US."
We'll have more soon.
