News: Now you too can be the man with the golden... controller.

Activision has revealed that a special Classic Edition of GoldenEye 007 will ship alongside the game-only edition this Fall. Currently announced only for Europe, the Classic Edition will contain a copy of the game and a gold-colored Classic Controller Pro. I would have preferred a Classic Controller shaped like the classic Nintendo 64 controller, but you have to admit it looks pretty cool.

While a US release hasn't been confirmed by Activision yet, GameStop and Toys R Us both posted a GoldenEye/Classic Controller Pro bundle back in June before erasing the listing.

"In addition to the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, GoldenEye will also support the Wii Zapper for 'point and shoot' gamers, giving players several ways to experience GoldenEye on Wii," said David Pokress, Head of Marketing for Licensed Properties, Activision Publishing. "We also couldn't pass up the opportunity to pay homage to the golden gun with the gold Classic Controller Pro, which looks cool and also gives shooter fans a familiar control scheme to use as they blast their way through the game."

GoldenEye 007 is being developed by Eurocom and will be available exclusively for the Wii this Fall.

UPDATE: Activision has confirmed that we'll be getting the GoldenEye 007: Classic Edition in America too. As previously announced, it'll be priced at $69.99.
