News: Downloadable game will tie in to Red Faction: Armageddon.
A few months back, THQ revealed they were working on a downloadable Red Faction game for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Today, Gamasutra has revealed the game will be a vehicular combat title known as Red Faction: Battlegrounds.
The game was unveiled at the European Game Developers Conference and should be available on the PSN and XBLA in late 2010/early 2011. According to THQ Digital Creative Director Don Whiteford, Battlegrounds will be played in a top-down view with four players able to fight it out on a single screen.
Players who download Battlegrounds and complete certain Achievements/Trophies will be able to unlock special items in the upcoming retail PS3/Xbox 360 game
Red Faction: Armageddon.
Red Faction: Battlegrounds is being developed by THQ Digital Warrington, a UK studio formerly known as Juice Games, who previously created the underrated
Juiced series of racing games.
We'll have more soon.
