Dood's Big Adventure

Written by Kyle Hilliard  on August 19, 2010

News: I'm actually surprised the Wii doesn't already have a drawing tablet.

Looks like THQ has beat Nintendo to the punch in the world of nifty Wii peripherals. The uDraw GameTablet (presumably pronounced ooh-draw) will be available by the holiday season and it will be part of a package that includes uDraw Studio for $69.99. It also actually sounds pretty cool.

The tablet has a slot where the Wii remote can be inserted into the device, effectively making it wireless. The actual drawing is done with a detachable, pressure sensitive stylus. The tablet also has "title-and-roll movement options," which seems to mean that games can possible be controlled by actually tillting and moving the tablet.

uDraw Studio is kind of like Microsoft Paint for the Wii. It's a set of tools for drawing to be used with the uDraw GameTablet. Drawings can be saved to an SD card and printed out.

Also releasing alongside the uDraw GameTablet and uDraw Studio are the games Pictionary and Dood's Big Adventure. Each game will be $29.99.

Pictionary is pretty self-explanatory. It's the classic board game, but it's on the Wii. Dood's Big Adventure sounds a bit like the DS game Drawn to Life. Apparently, drawings that the player creates will be incorporated into the game's 60 levels as characters or backgrounds.

THQ also announced that they have several more uDraw titles in the works for 2011 and beyond.
