News: Everybody was kung fu fighting...
Playing a game that requires you to jump around in front of your TV will always be a little embarassing, but Ubisoft's Fighters Uncaged may bring that humilation level to new heights this November.
Developed by AMA Studios, Fighters Uncaged will exclusively make use of the Xbox 360's Kinect sensor to bring players into the fight with real punches and kicks. According to Ubisoft, the game will recognize 70 different strikes inspired by authentic fighting styles like Thai Boxing. Players will also be able to perform voice-activated "Super Strikes" that won't be the subject of ridicule by other players. Nope, not at all.
These uncaged street fights won't just take place on the streets. Ubisoft has promised that Fighters Uncaged will feature 21 environments including rooftops, dark alleys, gritty city docks and an abandoned church.
In addition to single-player fighting, Fighters Uncaged will also teach players a variety of mixed martial arts techniques and include a two-player co-op mode. It doesn't look like Ubisoft plans to include a versus mode, which is probably just as well, as matches would likely end in real life broken bones.
We'll have more soon.
