News: And a mandatory 256 MB one.
Kazunori Yamauchi, Polyphony Digital head honcho and the driving force behind the Gran Turismo series, recently answered a few questions about Gran Turismo 5 through his Twitter account.
The Q&A session was in Japanese, so thankfully, Andriasang has translated it and puzzled out the important parts. Namely, how much hard drive space will gamers be required to have to play it.
It appears the game will require an installation of 256 MB of data. With such a small amount of mandatory data, it's likely the "install" is simply the minimum amount of space needed for a game save file.
Later, Yamauchi revealed that GT5 will include a 10 GB optional installation that will provide a "smooth play experience."
It's unknown how GT5 with a 256 MB install will compare to the "smooth play experience" of the 10 GB install. But I guess we'll all find out together when the game ships to stores on November 2.
