News: A lot more actually, as the Fall gaming season has begun!

Labor Day weekend is here, so to get in a festive mood we're honoring all of the hard work the development teams did to bring us this week's new releases:

  • Square Enix has created the first Kingdom Hearts game for the PSP, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep.
  • Beenox brings Spider-Man back for another round of video game action in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (DS, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360).
  • EA Canada is responsible for two games this week, NHL 11 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 and NHL Slapshot exclusively on the Wii.
  • Speaking of Wii exclusives, WayForward has exclusively brought Batman to the Wii in Batman: The Brave and the Bold. A version for the DS will also be released this week.
  • Eugen Systems has finally completed their decption RTS R.U.S.E. (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) for Ubisoft...
  • ...And Ubisoft Bucharest has completed their fighter jet game Tom Clancy's HAWX 2 (PS3, Xbox 360).
  • Finally, Level 5 (and publisher Nintendo) has made the third Professor Layton game available to DS players in America thanks to the release of Professor Layton and the Unwound Future.

If the list of notable new releases looked a little larger to you this week, there's a reason for that. Not only do we celebrate Labor Day today, but this is also the official start to the Fall gaming season. You can expect plenty of other big releases between now and Christmas day.
