News: Although I'm not sure the title is in English.
A second game in the Dissidia: Final Fantasy series was a big part of Square Enix's Tokyo Game Show presence. Now, the publisher has confirmed that PSP owners in North America will get a chance to play it when its released sometime in 2011.
The game's official title is... take a deep breath now... Dissidia 012 (Duodecim): Final Fantasy. While the name's a mouthful, the game promises to add a ton of new features on top of the already strong fighting mechanics found in Dissidia: Final Fantasy.
Square Enix has promised that the sequel will contain new "game modes, story missions, items, alternate costumes and combat features." This is in addition to the first confirmed new characters: Kain (of
Final Fantasy IV) and Lightning (of
Final Fantasy XIII). Square Enix has many more new characters planned for Dissidia 012.
One of the biggest new features is the Assist move, which will allow players to choose a second character to act as a partner in combat.
Square Enix will be revealing a lot more about Dissidia 012 (Duodecim): Final Fantasy in the coming months. And we'll have more soon.
