Microsoft issued a short statement today concerning the release date of Gears of War 3. It seems that everyone's favorite musclebound space marines (that don't wear green armor) will miss their previously scheduled April 2011 release date. Instead, the game will be shipped to stores in the Fall as Microsoft's "marquee title for the holiday season."
Aside from wanting to give Gears of War 3 a release date closer to Christmas, the full statement doesn't shed any light on why the game was delayed:
"The teams at Microsoft Game Studios and Epic Games have done great work thus far readying the title for release in the Spring of 2011. However, we've elected to move the launch of Gears of War 3 until Fall 2011 to make it the marquee title for the holiday season."
