News: With a complete reveal going on all weekend.
Activision has announced they will make a slew of announcements this weekend about X-Men: Destiny, their latest successor to the X-Men Legends series. The game is currently in development for several unnamed consoles and it will be released in Fall 2011.
According to the publisher, X-Men: Destiny will include "a rich, branching storyline that features a deep element of choice." This storyline will outfit players in the brand spanking new spandex of several new recruits to the X-Men who will have "ultimate control of their destiny."
The first trailer for X-Men: Destiny will make its worldwide debut on IGN sometime today. The trailer will also be on display at Activision's booth at the New York Comic-Con, which runs from today through Sunday, October 10. Finally, a panel devoted to the game is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 9, at 10:45 AM in Room 1A06. This panel will go in-depth inside Destiny's storyline with writer Mike Carey (who has previously written for the X-Men: Legacy comic).
A teaser website is currently live at HeroHQ.com/xmendestiny. It's pretty empty as of right now, but it'll surely be filled with more information this weekend.
