News: The Apprentice is now the Master.
Haden Blackman was the driving force behind Star Wars: Galaxies and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed before he left LucasArts back in June. Today, in an interview with Gamasutra, Blackman has revealed he's starting his own studio with fellow LucasArts vet Cedrick Collomb.
Blackman and Collomb's new venture will be known as Fearless Studios, a name Blackman says is a reflection on his desire to take creative risks with his new studio.
Blackman wouldn't expand on what kinds of risks he was thinking of taking, nor has his team chosen a concept for their first project. But one possibility that's near the top of the list is a horror game.
"I really want to build big, story-driven action games," Blackman said. "And I'm a big horror buff; I would love to do a horror game. That's kind of where our headspace is at right there."
Blackman's final game with LucasArts,
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, will be released on October 26.
