News: Part of a "vast transmedia strategy." Somebody alert Glen Beck, that sounds bad...
THQ has revealed that Homefront will be expanding beyond the video game with the announcement of a "vast transmedia strategy" for the fledgling franchise. In addition to the game, which will be released in March, the publisher will also put out a novel set in the Homefront universe. Titled Homefront: The Voice of Freedom, the book will be co-written by John Milius (who also penned the game) and New York Times bestselling author Raymond Benson (author of the two Metal Gear Solid novels). The novel is being published by Random House's Del Rey imprint, which has become a haven for game novelizations.
УHomefront represents a fascinating vision of the near-future,Ф added John Milius. УAfter completing my work on the game, it became clear that there were many more stories to tell, and this book will offer a chilling look at this near-future world.Ф
The novel will be available in early 2011 and will tell more stories from the Korean-occupied America of 2027. Besides the novel, THQ already has big plans for the game series, referring to the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 title as "the first Homefront game."
