News: But it's getting closer!

It's finally happened. I think.

Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi has told Jalopnik that Gran Turismo 5 has gone gold and that "discs are being stamped as we speak."

The oft-delayed "real driving simulator" was originally scheduled to be released yesterday, but was delayed one more time in October for unspecified reasons. Sony hasn't given the game a new release date yet, so it's currently up in the air whether or not the game will still be released in 2010. But knowing that Gran Turismo 5 has gone gold should mean it's only a matter of time before an announcement.

Right?
