News: And it's already been delayed! Nah, I'm just kidding. It's really in development though.
Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital, just can't catch a break. One day after revealing that Gran Turismo 5 has gone gold, people are already asking about Gran Turismo 6.
The crazy part is, it's actually in development!
Autoweek talked to the developer and got him to open up, slightly, about GT6:
Autoweek: Is development underway on GT6?
Yamauchi: Yeah.
Autoweek:Can you give us any idea on what we can expect for GT6?
Yamauchi: It's not something that we can talk that lightly on. It took 2,000 days to get all the ideas that went into GT5. It's just too early to be talking about GT6.
So there you have it, it's way too early to be talking about Gran Turismo 6. Now leave the poor man alone.
But what of Gran Turismo 5? While Sony has yet to announce an official release date, Yamauchi revealed that one should be announced soon. He was less sure if that release date would be in 2010...
Autoweek: Will we be playing it by Christmas?
Yamauchi: I think so.
Uh oh. We'll have more on Gran Turismo 5 soon.
