News: Or should that be "koming"?

In their press release announcing the inclusion of Kratos in the PlayStation 3 version of Mortal Kombat, publisher WB Games and developer NetherRealm Studios have narrowed the game's release date down to April 2011.

This is great news for fans of the classic fighting franchise and good news for God of War fans who can't wait to see Kratos kill the kombatants.

"When we were approached with the opportunity, it was a no-brainer. Fans of both games have been asking for this to happen," said Stig Asmussen, Game Director, God of Warо III. "Kratos belongs in Mortal Kombat, and I'm thrilled about the potential."

"We could not be more excited to have Kratos in the new Mortal Kombat, since we've always felt he would fit perfectly into our universe and can't wait for Mortal Kombat and God of War fans to play this game," says Ed Boon, Creative Director of NetherRealm Studios. "Not only is Kratos in the game, but we have an exciting partnership with Sony to develop Mortal Kombat in Stereoscopic 3-D, which makes the fighting experience much more immersive"

We'll have more soon.
