News: Wow. That's like super budget pricing.
TimeGate Studios has been hard at work on Section 8: Prejudice, the sequel to their 2009 shooter Section 8 for some time now. In between late-night coding sessions, the developer has revealed that the game will launch in early 2011 for the low, low price of $14.99.
This sub-bargain bin pricing scheme is possible due to the fact that TimeGame plans to release Section 8: Prejudice as a download-only game on the PC, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
TimeGate is positioning Prejudice as a downloadable title that plays like a full retail game at a "DVD-like" price:
Prejudice is a full-featured, sci-fi-themed, first-person shooter that delivers a 5-hour, story-driven single-player campaign, robust online multiplayer for up to 32 players across a variety of maps, and a new 4-player co-op game mode, entitled Swarm. As if that wasn't enough, all game modes and content will be playable offline, as the $14.99 product also includes full bot support.
УWe're challenging the notion of just how much quality and value we can pack into a digital download first-person shooter,Ф said Adel Chaveleh, CEO of TimeGate Studios. УOur target is very simply to be the highest quality, best value digital FPS on the market. Prejudice is a full-retail-scoped product, so I'm sure our fans will be very happy with our price-point decision.Ф
We'll have more soon.
