News: Harmonix is rockin' in the free world now.
A month after revealing they intended to sell their stake in Harmonix, Viacom has found a buyer for the Rock Band developer. The new owner is Columbus Nova, an investment firm located in New York.
But even with the change in ownership, it sounds like things will go on as they always have at Harmonix. The developer plans to continue working on DLC for Rock Band 3 and Dance Centreal. And, according to Harmonix co-founder Alex Rigopulous, the company will retain the sequel rights to those franchises.
But new projects are on the horizon for Harmonix as the company's Director of Communication, John Drake, confirmed "[W]e're hard at work on some unannounced projects that we think you're going to be pumped about."
I'm going to take a shot in the dark here, but do you think it's Rock Band 4?
