Top 6-10: Next on our Top 40 list, games C through D, aren't very original. They're either sequels like (Crackdown 2) or clones of other games (Dante's Inferno), but we still enjoyed them.

Crackdown 2
Platforms: Xbox 360
Publisher: Microsoft
Developer Ruffian Games
Release Date: July 6, 2010

"Call it Crackdown 2, Crackdown 1.5, or if you're really snide, a Crackdown expansion pack, but no matter how you slice it, Crackdown 2 is a fun game that's exceptionally playable and enjoyable even if it's not as original as it could be had the game received more development time. Somehow collecting orbs never gets old, and the increased amount of objectives adds some vital variety to the package and makes for a much lengthier game with a lot more replay value when the story is complete." - Adam Woolcott

Dante's Inferno
Platforms: PS3, Xbox 360
Publisher: EA Games
Developer Visceral Games
Release Date: February 9, 2010

"We have already had our fair share of slashing this year, but why not indulge in a little bit of gluttony with Dante's Inferno, Visceral Games' take on the famous fourteenth century poem by Dante Alighieri? Think this game is a rip-off? Well I wouldn't say you're completely wrong, but I'll be damned if isn't a lot of fun. Its vision of Hell will suck you in and its wildly designed demons will spit you out like the rotten sinner you surely are. When it's all said and done, Dante's Inferno gives God of War a run for its money and delivers a disturbing and captivating experience that cannot simply be thrown aside as a clone." - Kenny Esbenshade

Darksiders
Platforms: PC, PS3, Xbox 360
Publisher: THQ
Developer Vigil Games
Release Date: January 5, 2010

"One thing you can say about Darksiders is that it isn't original. It takes a lot of elements from highly revered games. But one thing you can't say is that Darksiders is uninspired. The people at Vigil have obviously worked really hard to make sure that the quality of all of those gameplay elements stand up to the games they came from. This is no cash-in. What at first seems like a God of War clone turns into a grown up version of Zelda - a bloody adventure with dark themes and settings, and it actually works. The puzzles are clever, the combat is visceral, there are a good amount of items and upgrades to be had and the world is convincing. Darksiders might not be very innovative, but it is without a doubt a 3rd person jack of all trades that shouldn't be passed up." - Kenny Esbenshade

Dead Nation
Platforms: PS3 (PSN)
Publisher: SCEA
Developer Housemarque
Release Date: November 30, 2010

"Some people treat action games of this sort as a distraction; others revisit them obsessively, always looking to beat a high score. No matter how deeply you plan to dive in, you'll be getting a lot of game for your $15 with Dead Nation. It's setting and nuanced gameplay are the work of a developer who clearly understands the genre." - Alex Roth

Deadly Premonition
Platforms: Xbox 360
Publisher: Ignition Entertainment
Developer Access Games
Release Date: February 23, 2010

"Deadly Premonition is a ambitious low budget game that can almost be considered the equivalent of a b-movie. It's weird and charming, cumbersome and frustrating, amusing and somber, and it switches these moods around often. With an intriguing murder mystery and a cast of locals that make the place seem like an open-air asylum, the game is enjoyable from start to finish." - Adam Woolcott
