LA Noire becomes first game recognized by Tribeca Film Festival @ Gaming Target

News: Rockstar Games' Xbox 360 and PS3 game will be presented on April 25, a few weeks before its May 17 release date.

Who's the tapping the Tribeca Film Festival's door? It's Rockstar Games' LA Noire. While other videogames remain on the festival's cutting room floor, this upcoming crime drama will be previewed less than a month prior to its releases in the store. The New York City-based festival, which has Robert De Niro as a co-creator, has never bestowed this honor on a videogame before.

Rockstar Games will also present an exclusive preview of L.A. Noire as part of the Tribeca Talks series, taking place on April 25, 2011. The presentation will feature a live interactive screening of a case from L.A. Noire, followed by a Q&A exploring the crossover between filmmaking and interactive entertainment. The Q&A will focus on the making of L.A. Noire, the technology behind it, and story and action in this medium, and will be moderated by Geoff Gilmore, Tribeca Enterprises' Chief Creative Officer.
