PC Hardware News: Turns out liquids and computers do mix! The folks at Origin PC just unveiled the Frostbyte 360 LCS, with prices as rock bottom as this stuff gets.
PC gaming takes a budget, but now thanks to Origin PC, you won't need a second mortgage to buy an overclocked, liquid cooled desktop. Yesterday, the boutique system designer unveiled the Frostbyte 360 liquid cooling system. Origin has a reputation for working with tech companies to overlcock gear to some pretty obscene speeds, and now they're talking about 5.2GHz. That's as much power as you can get for $1,599. Here's what Kevin Wasielewski, co-founder and CEO of Origin PC, has to say about it:
Until now, extreme overclocking required hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of components including pumps, radiators, coolant hoses, fittings, and expensive water blocks. With the Frostbyte 360, a maintenance free liquid cooling solution, ORIGIN PC customers can enjoy top-end CPU performance at a fraction of the cost.
While Mr. Wasielewski's estimate of Уthousands of dollarsФ is a tad high, he's not far off. Liquid cooling is pricey and complex, and will have you reading reviews on Newegg.com all week. It's not the kind of installation your average user wants to undertake.
When you buy a high-end gaming machine, you're paying by the megabite and gigahertz. Why not squeeze a little more power out of that fancy tech you shelled out for? That's where specialized cooling systems like the Frostbyte 360 come in. And as always, Origin offers a wide selection of slick cases and hypnotic case lights. Just look how good a little blue lighting made this system look:
Origin PC sells customizable laptops, desktops, and a full line of Ready to Ship systems. They all come very well reviewed.
