CoD: Black Ops 2 News: The latest update in a series of unconfirmed reports about the next Call of Duty game point to CoD Black Ops 2 as being next week's big reveal.
Everyone seems to be talking about CoD: Black Ops 2 - everyone except Activision that is. The publisher is set to reveal the next Call of Duty game, and although the company is mum about the details, all signs point to it being the sequel to 2010's Black Ops, Black Ops 2. This only makes sense. First, Activision has been branding the Call of Duty games ever since the first MW, i.e. MW, MW2 and most recently MW3. Second, it's Treyarch's turn to develop the next CoD game, and the team's previous effort was none other than the first CoD: Black Ops.
Then there's the untold amounts of leaks - real or not, these all point to CoD Black Ops 2 being the big reveal that Activision has in store for May 1 during the NBA playoffs. The latest in the series of rumors?
A badly taken photograph (leakers never seem to avoid the glare of their camera's flash, right?) that purportedly shows the box art of Black Ops 2. Specifically, it's supposed to be the Xbox 360 version of CoD Black Ops 2. Since Microsoft has the lead SKU with first DLC and promotional event tie-ins, this makes sense. And despite the glare, the cover art seems to match what we've seen before - even from Activision's official world reveal teaser seen below.
Of course, there's no telling whether or not this is the real deal or a fan-created image inspired by the official world reveal teaser image. But, there's a definite time and place in which we will know the truth: Tuesday at 9 pm on TNT. That's when and where Activision will air the TV spot for the game, so even if you're not into basketball, Black Ops 2 will be worth tuning in for. Just in case you miss the NBA Playoffs and, in turn, the world reveal for what everyone expects to be CoD: Black Ops 2, set your sights on
