Xbox Live is down, error 807b01f7 takes CoD: Black Ops 2, Halo 4 offline

Xbox Live is experiencing an outage right now, with error code 807b01f7 bringing to a standstill new multiplayer games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Halo 4.

The service went offline starting around 11:57 pm Eastern / 8:57 pm Pacific on November 16, extending into the morning of November 17. The first tweet came from Chase Oros at that time, asking, “Is anyone else's Xbox Live down, or is it just me?”

“Users may experience difficulties with the following services,” according to Microsoft’s official service status website. “Viewing backgrounds, channels, or slots from Xbox LIVE in the Xbox Dashboard”

Of course, Xbox Live being down has spread to more than just backgrounds, channels, and slots. Users on twitter have reported a stopage of multiplayer games, packing it in for the night after attempting to log into CoD Black Ops 2 and Halo 4.

“No #COD tonight,” tweeted eldiablopotato, “XBox LIVE is fracked up (error 807b01f7). Also, 'Cloud Saved Games' is offline.”

Xbox Live just celebrated its 10th anniversary on Thursday, having launched on Nov. 15, 2002.

This is added to the fact that error 807b01f7 has taken offline CoD Black Ops 2, which came out on Tuesday, and Halo 4, which released a week prior to that, and you get the perfect storm for an Xbox Live outage.
