Blacklight Retribution News: Join Andy Kipling, director of production on Blacklight Retribution, as he discusses bring this free-to-play shooter to a console.

Angry Birds Trilogy

Sony recently released a new video for one of their upcoming PS4 titles, Blacklight Retribution. Blacklight Retribution is developed by Zombie Studios. This new video is from the “Conversations with Creators” series where Andy Kipling, Zombie Studios’ director of production for Blacklight Retribution discusses weapon modification and the transition of the free-to-play PC shooter to a console for the first time.

In Blacklight Retribution you will be able to customize your experience in “hundreds of thousands of ways” - change every part of your weapons from magazines, scopes, barrels and receivers to build your weapon of choice. You will be able to customize your character from the armor they wear to the taunts performed for your enemies. You will be able to access the latest in warfare including the Hyper Reality Visor (HRV) that enables you to see opponents, teammates, and Weapon Depots through walls or deploy a Hardsuit with a mounted chaingun and railgun.

There will be over ten maps in different game modes including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed and Capture the Flag. I was personally able to try out Blacklight Retribution at E3 and the game played really well on PS4. I was even able to utilize the touchpad on the Dualshock 4. What I was able to do was when I downed an opponent I could quickly drag my finger across the touchpad which would cause my soldier in the game to wag his finger at the downed opponent in a trash talking type gesture. It was pretty cool and I am interested to see the other ways that Dualshock 4 will be implemented.

Check out the Blacklight Retribution video below and tell us what you think. Will you play this game on the PS4?
