Call of Duty: Ghosts is the #1 most played game on next gen consoles

CoD Ghosts News: Activision reveals that Call of Duty: Ghosts is the most played game on both Xbox One and PS4.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is now available for pretty much all platforms and by all indications it is a smashing success. According to Microsoft, CoD: Ghosts is the #1 most played Xbox One multiplayer game worldwide and is the #1 top selling Xbox One game in retail stores in North America at retailers Best Buy, GameStop, Target and Walmart.

In standalone Xbox One retail software sales, the game is also #1 in the United Kingdom, according to GfK Charttrack. Additionally, Sony has also revealed that Call of Duty: Ghosts is the #1 most played PS4 game and also continues to be the #1 top selling PS4 title at Best Buy, GameStop, Target and Walmart.

"Around the globe, Call of Duty: Ghosts is leading the next generation. It's the #1 selling title at key retailers and it's also the most played game on Xbox One and PS4 globally," said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc. "As we've said before, we've got the best community of fans in the world, and we're thrilled they're coming with us to the next generation."

In addition to being the #1 Xbox One multiplayer game on Xbox Live,Call of Duty: Ghosts also is currently the #1 most played Xbox 360 multiplayer game, according to Microsoft.

More than 1 billion multiplayer matches of Call of Duty: Ghosts already have been played across all versions.
