News: Capcom and Sony have teamed up to bring Street Fighter V exclusively to PS4 and PC along with cross-platform play for the first time.

Earlier today at the Sony keynote at the PlayStation Experience we learned that Street Fighter V is going to be exclusive to the PS4 and PC. Xbox One gamers who are Street Fighter fans might be disappointed to hear that it sounds like Street Fighter V is going to be a PS4 exclusive for quite a while but given Capcom’s propensity to release multiple versions of the same game, it is very often that another version of Street Fighter V could find its way to Microsoft’s console. For now though it is only PS4 and PC that will offer cross-platform play that should unite everyone into one centralized player base. Yep, PS4 players will be able to play against PC players and vice versa.

“Throughout all of our discussions with Sony Computer Entertainment, it is clear that we share a mutual belief that the fighting genre has a huge opportunity for growth,” said Matt Dahlgren, Capcom’s Associate Director of Brand Marketing and eSports. “The announcement today is just the first step, of many, in creating the next generation Street Fighter experience our fans have been asking for.”

“Partnering with Capcom to deliver one of the most popular video game franchises of all time as a console exclusive to our PlayStation family is a huge undertaking and an honor we take incredibly seriously,” said Adam Boyes, VP of Publisher & Developer Relations at Sony Computer Entertainment America. “We can’t wait to show Street Fighter and PlayStation fans what we have in store for them.”
