Earlier today it was revealed that Microsoft is teaming up with Oculus and there will be an Xbox One controller included with every Oculus Rift. If you are planning on getting an Oculus Rift and playing games on it, the Xbox One controller will be right there for you and if you have the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows you will be able to play games on the Rift using your Xbox One controller wirelessly out of the box.
There are a number of cool thing that this partnership could bring. One of the biggest ones is definitely that Xbox One games will be playable on Oculus Rift. The same technology that will allow you to stream Xbox One games to a Windows 10 PC or tablet will also be used to allow you to stream to an Oculus Rift. You will be able to play games like Halo, Forza and Sunset Overdrive on your own virtual reality cinema screen and you can still play with your friends over Xbox Live. Microsoft claims that the Oculus Rift will work natively with Windows 10 which will make everything incredibly easy to set up when you first get your Rift.
“We’re thrilled to be working closely with the team at Oculus. Their groundbreaking work in virtual reality is inspiring, and the Oculus Rift delivers a truly next-generation VR experience,” said Spencer. “We at Xbox are passionate about giving gamers the opportunity to play when and where they want. I can't wait to see the incredible games created for the Rift, and we are proud to be part of the experience."
