A new developer diary has been released for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. This new developer diary covers the city as well as the narrative for Faith’s next adventure. This new video explores the depth of the city as well as how DICE created Faith’s background story, in addition to the architectural design, the factions within the city of Glass and the challenge of portraying city nightlife.

The city of Glass boasts almost five million citizens which makes it the third largest city in Cascadia. It has many different districts such as the “Anchor” district, “The View” district and “Downtown.” The “Anchor” district is one of the more affluent areas in the city. It is full of popular nightclubs and shops and the “Bauble Mall” is currently under construction.

The “Downtown” district is located right in the center of the city. There are many different things to see such as fashionable boutiques as well as the Elysium Corporation building which is home to the world’s leading research professionals.

“The View” is a residential district that has been dedicated to “upwardly mobile” citizens. This is considered to be one of the final stops before you are issued an invitation to the “sky city.” You can explore the seaside promenade as well as visit the Marina.

There are different factions in the city as well with the Runners, the Conglomerate and “Black November.” The Runners have decided not to be a part of the Conglomerate machine. They live on rooftops and race across the city performing courier jobs as well as other things for those who are willing to pay for their services. The Conglomerate consists of 13 corporations who together rule the nation of Cascadia. “Black November” is a resistance movement that is led by Rebecca Thorne, a protest leader that turned violent after certain events took place. The “Black November” group terrorize the authorities and try to incite a general revolution.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is slated to be released on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC on May 26. Check out the new developer diary below and tell us what you think. Will you be joining Faith on her new journey?
